get out of the way
I’ve been using this word a lot lately and I hope that it doesn’t leave my vocabulary anytime soon: WOW! (brilliant, scholarly word, huh?) I’m just blown away how God continues to do amazing things here at the Mesa Campus. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised; God plainly tells us that He desires for us to prosper and that He is with us along the way. (Jeremiah 29:11) But, I don’t ever want to take for granted what God is doing because when we fail to recognize God at work, then we begin to focus on the wrong things. John the Baptist nailed it when he said this about Jesus: “He must increase and I must decrease.” (John 3:30) When we walk with God, we must recognize that there is a point where we just have to get out of His way and let Him do what only He can do. He works through us and we have our part to play in this world, no doubt. But, the greatest leaders in the Kingdom of God are acutely aware of their limitations and the vastness of our Lord. (see 2 Cor. 12:9) I love being a part of something that is so much bigger than me. It is the only way to truly live the life that Jesus created us to live. So, let’s walk closely with God, do what we are called to do and then get the heck out of the way!

Great stuff Brian. Thanks for inspiring us all and leading the charge in Mesa.
